In the village, people would chatter a lot. They called him “the old man”. Some said he was crazy.
Had someone ever seen such stubbornness? The sea had only provided pearls, everyone knew that.
Others thought he was a poet living in another world and telling good stories to children. Still others
wanted to shut him up, but secretly they cherished the hope that his project would succeed anyway.
— For me, the owner of the bar said, I do not care much. I am like the children. I love listening
to all the beautiful stories that he tells about the sea and the ocean. It doesn’t matter if they are true
or not. They are beautiful!
No adult in the village wanted to believe him. None of them, except for the children.
